About

Hello! I’m an editor and writer living in Boston. I run the appliance section at Wirecutter, part of The New York Times Co. I used to write the guides to dishwashers, washing machines, robot vacuums, and a bunch more. Now I edit all of them.

I was also the first features editor at Reviewed.com, part of the USA Today network. I tried to find ways to turn 3,000-word stove reviews into shareable content. Sometimes it worked.

I also used to write about cameras and imaging, and had articles published at DPReview, Pop Photo, Imaging Resource, USA Today, and more. Before all that, I wrote about musicians and musical instruments.

Sometimes I use my middle initial. I’m married and I have a cat. I’ve played drums in a bunch of metal bands you’ve never heard of, and yes, maybe that was me in that cover band.
